Santa Fe Salutes Aretha Franklin

The Levitt AMP Santa Fe Railyard series presents the fourth installment of our 'Santa Fe Salutes' shows, this year paying homage to the legacy of the great Aretha Franklin!

Stephanie and band will perform 3 of their favorite Aretha tunes during the tribute accompanied by some surprise guest artists.

Some of New Mexico's finest musicians are coming together in the Santa Fe Railyard on July 26th to play and sing the songs of the Queen of Soul, honoring her lifetime of incredible musical achievements and celebrating our diverse musical community. And, as with 2018's festivities, this year's salute is paired with the Santa Fe Reporter's annual Best of Santa Fe party! Come out and meet the winners of the 2019 Best of Santa Fe poll and hear the very best of the 505's musicians, all free in the beautiful Santa Fe Railyard.

Band - House Concert, Santa Rosa, CA

Playing with the John Courage Trio. This man and this band holds a special place in our hearts. Can’t wait to share the stage once again!

Hi Friends, John Courage here!

Spring is in the air and we can't wait to play a little music outdoors for you! Make sure you don't miss the very first "Live at Gremlintone", an initial venture into a highly curated backyard live music experience.

Starting off the night is Bronze Medal Hopefuls, an upstart outfit from our own backyard. Playing instrumental original compositions filtered through the cast of an all star small band ( Gio Benedetti, Alexander Leach, Zachary Morris), this new outfit is tracking their debut EP at Gremlintone leading up to the concert. For fans of Vulpeck, Stevie Wonder, Budos Band, and The Dirty Three.

Next up is Stephanie Hatfield on tour from Santa Fe, NM. She will have a full band out on tour, including my recording mentor/guru, Bill Palmer. I moonlighted as a member of the band during my time in New Mexico and am excited to finally welcome them to California. Expect an ultra dynamic set from this powerhouse crew, and Stephanie's vocals are sure to rock your evening. Think along the lines of Brandi Carlile meets Calexico and they write a letter to The Pretenders while Shirley Manson is playing on the radio.

I'll be closing out the night with a really special set full of guests and features. Stretching out and sitting will be members of the show in an unforgettable sunset jamboree. There never has been a John Courage set like this night, and it will certainly never be duplicated. Expect old familiars, covers, and all star guests. For fans of Tom Petty, Wilco, and loosely framed vintage rock n' roll.

Doors are at 6, music goes from 7pm-9:30pm

The night is a special treat, hosted by yours truly at my house. Tickets will be at the door, with a $10 suggested CASH donation. Address and parking description provided with RSVP, but the concert is near downtown Santa Rosa.

Beer/ wine is available for a $5 donation with ID.

Onsite food will be an amazing, independent wood fired pizza trailer with top notch locally sourced ingredients run by burgeoning allstar pizza maker Deppen.

Please bring warm clothes as the evenings are still cool, and a blanket and/or chair to sit on the lawn.

We can't wait to celebrate springing into Summer with you!!!!
